To qualify, every competitor may compete and earn points at any karate tournament that is sanctioned by TKO. The top 4 places at a TKO-rated event receive points toward a Texas rating and thereby establish their seeds.

    A competitor can accumulate points in sparring, forms, weapons, and self-defense.  The state tournament is open to everyone regardless of TKO membership; however, all TKO members will be eligible to be seeded (placed in a preferred position of competition) at the state finals.

    Non-seeded competitors will be seeded as "wild-card players." The winner of the wild-card players of each event will then advance with the seeded players to compete for the state title.

    All competitors are requested to mail or Email the tabulations of their points to us before November 7th. TKO season begins January 1 and ends November 5th each year. It is the responsibility of the competitor to report his/her ratings points.  TKO rules will be enforced.

If you are have points.  Please provide the following information:

1st   = 12 points
2nd  = 10 points
3rd  =   8 points

Example:
Big D Nationals-  Specialty: 3rd, Forms: 1st, Sparring:  3rd
Texas Showdown-  Specialty: 1st, Forms:2nd, Sparring: 3rd

Forms Total: 22   Specialty Total:  20    Sparring Total:  16

Attach points along with your registration.  Points must be received no later than January 21st.
